SECNA is hosting a community storytelling gathering to envision a future where all people, places and the planet thrive.
Come and join us for a night of stories over delicious food -- where you will have an opportunity to meet, learn and share with others working to create positive impacts through storytelling.
Who should come
Story Holders – people who have lived experience of their Story. They own the Story and may choose to share it or not.
Story Tellers – people who tell Stories. You may also be the Story Holders or an organisation who shares Stories.
Anyone interested in the transformative impact of Storytelling!

About SECNA's Ethical Storytelling Work
Our steering group (of mostly Cultural and Indigenous Entrepreneurs) challenged us 'mainstream' Social Entrepreneurs to think differently about how we engage with people with lived experience. What is the responsibility of a social enterprise as an ethical story holder or partner? How do you engage with people and treat people with lived experiences more ethically and respectfully?
SECNA as a Story Partner organisation moving through this process, are looking to encourage our community to support the work of our Cultural and Indigenous entrepreneurs - starting with Transformational Ethical Storytelling.
This is the first step of many that SECNA is taking to build culturally safe, respectful and ethical ways of working with our Cultural Entrepreneur members and Story Holders. Our intention is to continue this work in the future and welcome any and all feedback as to how we can work together moving forward to support and guide us as an organisation and across key areas, helping us to drive key policies, understanding, membership, membership offerings and ensuring we are inclusive of many different cultural communities across our state.
We would also like to package and tell this story at SEWF that documents our process that will hopefully inspire our peers to do the same.
