Business for Good Lunches

A Business for Good lunch provides an opportunity for social enterprises and supporters to connect, share insights, problem-solve and collaborate.

Imagine hosting a gathering where ideas bloom, collaborations are born, and social impact is the main course. That's what Business for Good lunches offer - a powerful platform for social enterprises and their supporters to connect, share insights, solve problems, and foster partnerships.

Become a local champion by hosting a Business for Good lunch!

As a host, you'll bring together social enterprises and supporters, facilitate enlightening conversations, and spark collaborations. Commit to four quarterly lunches, kindle relationships, and watch the magic unfold as attendees share their "asks". Whether it's help with marketing, sourcing suppliers, or finding partners, these lunches have been the birthplace of surprising solutions across NSW and ACT.

Bianca Bartlett | Purple Card Project & Ragtraders Newy

“Sometimes running a social enterprise can be a bit isolating, but the Business for Good lunches have been a fantastic way for me to connect with other socially conscious people, share a meal, swap stories, and work through shared problems. And with every lunch my community, and support network, grows a little bit larger!”

Fiona Harrison I Chocolate on Purpose

“Always enjoy these lunches in the company of like-minded people, and appreciate the inclusiveness and stewardship that Kylie Flament brings to the table”

Non-SECNA Members

“Nice relaxed atmosphere, met some great people”

“It was my first SECNA networking event and sadly, I couldn't stay as long as I'd have liked. However, I am already looking forward to the next one!”

Your Role

A successful Business for Good lunch needs a local champion to volunteer as the host. As a host, your role is to:

  • Commit to organising at least four quarterly lunches in a row to build relationships and momentum

  • Identify a venue (preferably a social enterprise cafe in your area that people can buy their own lunch from on the day, or you might know or be an organisation who can provide a space and catering)

  • Choose a day and time at least a month in advance

  • Liaise with SECNA to confirm details of the lunch (when, where, any special guests, how it will be promoted)

  • Promote the lunch through your networks

  • Facilitate discussions and networking on the day

SECNA’s Role

SECNA will provide unwavering support to the host every step of the way, including:

  • Connecting the social enterprise ecosystem to like-minded people and events

  • Preparing marketing materials (content and images) for the lunch

  • Publicising the Business for Good lunch and promoting it to our networks

  • Managing registrations and enquiries

  • Facilitating the first Business for Good lunch in each new location if at all possible

  • Attending each lunch if at all possible

  • Posting photos and updates about each lunch on our social media channels
