SECNA is a sector-led peak body that represents the interests of social entrepreneurs and social enterprises across NSW & ACT.
We have two types of memberships available: Associate and Industry membership

Industry membership
For social enterprises: organisations that trade as a business, exist specifically to make the world a better place and commit to reinvesting the majority of profits towards their purpose. All Industry Member applications are reviewed and approved by SECNA’s Board.
For social enterprises

$120/year + GST
For social enterprises who are early stage, small scale and/or have limited financial capacity (turnover up to $500k per annum).

$360/year + GST
For social enterprises who are established (have one or more employees, turnover between $500K up to $2 million per annum) but are not large social enterprises.

$1,200/year + GST
For social enterprises who are large organisations (typically a turnover of greater than $2 million per annum) and/or have the financial capacity to contribute more in membership fees.

Social Traders and SECNA are separate organisations with separate processes. The Social Enterprise Council of NSW & ACT (SECNA) is a member-led peak body that represents the interests of social entrepreneurs and social enterprises across New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory.
Social Traders is the national social enterprise certifier in Australia. Their certification gives businesses and governments the assurance that a social enterprise has been independently verified, which increases their confidence in procuring from those organisations.

As per SECNA's constitution, the Board vote on every organisation that applies for SECNA industry (social enterprise) membership as to whether, in their view, the organisation is a social enterprise or not (they need to see clearly that you're both a business and that you exist specifically to make the world a better place).
As all our Directors are all volunteers, we appreciate your patience as they review applications. The review process can take between 2-4 weeks.
